Introduction
A two-day workshop titled “Generative AI for Corporate Leaders” was held on June 27th and 28th, 2024. The workshop, led by experienced engineer and educator Sagun Dhungana, aimed to equip corporate leaders with a foundational understanding of Generative AI and its potential applications across diverse industries. The workshop was hosted by Management Association of Nepal(MAN)
Participants
The workshop attracted 26 participants representing leading organizations in Nepal, including Global IME Bank, Machhapuchchhre Bank, Citizens Bank International, Ncell, Plan International, and Muktinath Bikash Bank. This diverse group of participants ensured a rich exchange of ideas and perspectives on the use of AI in various corporate settings.
Workshop Content
The workshop content was structured in a clear and engaging manner, covering the following key areas:
- Demystifying Generative AI: Participants gained a solid understanding of the concept of Generative AI, its key functionalities, and its differentiation from traditional AI models.
- Understanding the Foundation: AI and LLMs: The workshop explored the fundamental principles of AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), highlighting their role in enabling Generative AI capabilities.
- Generative AI in Action: Through interactive sessions, participants explored real-world applications of Generative AI across various industries, including banking, healthcare, retail, manufacturing, education, government, and media.
- Beyond the Hype: The workshop delved into the everyday uses of AI in our daily lives (e.g., autocorrect, spam filters) and discussed the future trajectory of AI advancements.
- Challenges and Ethical Considerations: The workshop addressed the ethical concerns surrounding Generative AI, including potential biases in training data and the importance of responsible AI development.
- Resources and Continuous Learning: Participants received valuable resources and tools for further exploration of Generative AI, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and knowledge acquisition.
